Referral Program
In the Synchronicity referral program you earn a share of the net fees generated by traders you invite, and by the traders they invite, on down through your network. Rewards are based on trading activity. Traders who join through your code receive a discount on their own fees.
This page covers how the codes work, how rewards are calculated and capped, the referred trader’s discount, and how payouts are handled.
How referrals work
Your referral code is in the referral dashboard at testnet.synchronicity.xyz/referrals . Open it, copy your link, and share it with the traders you want to invite.
Step by step
- Find your referral code in the referral dashboard .
- Share your referral link with the people you want to invite.
- When someone joins through your referral code, they join your referral network.
- From then on, you earn a share of the net fees their trading generates, subject to the rates, caps, and checks below.
Rewards are subject to eligibility, caps, review, and anti-abuse checks.
Referral codes and boost codes
There are two kinds of code, and they move a trader into Synchronicity differently.
A referral code is the limited kind that refills to 2 each Friday. A trader who redeems it skips the waitlist and joins Synchronicity immediately, joined to your network from the start.
A boost code does not skip the waitlist, it moves a trader up it, so they gain access sooner. You can hand out boost codes without limit, but a given trader can only be boosted once, so boosts from different people do not stack on the same trader. A trader joins your network when they sign up through your boost code, and a boost-code referral earns the same rewards as a referral-code one.
Referrals take priority. A trader who joins through your boost code is in your network. The one exception: if, while they are still on the waitlist, they redeem someone else’s referral code, that code admits them right away and moves them into that referrer’s network instead. From then on you have no connection to them and earn no rewards from their activity.
Your referral-code invites
Referral codes are the limited kind. The dashboard shows how many you have available, and the count refills on a schedule. Boost codes have no such limit.
Each Friday at 16:00 UTC, your referral codes refill up to 2. They do not stack above 2.
| Referral codes you have on Friday | Codes after the refill |
|---|---|
| 0 | 2 |
| 1 | 2 |
| 2 | 2 (no change) |
Unused referral codes do not accumulate beyond 2. If you already hold 2, the Friday refill adds nothing. So make good use of your referral codes to maximize your network.
Referrer rewards
You earn a share of the net fees generated by the traders in your network. Net fees are the fees Synchronicity collects after the referred trader’s discount has been applied, so the reward is calculated on what is actually collected.
The share decreases the further a trader sits from you in the network. Someone you invite directly is Level 1. Someone they invite is Level 2. The next layer down is Level 3, and so on. Each level out, the rate drops by a factor of five:
reward_for_level_L = net_fees * 0.20^LHere L is the distance from you: L=1 is a trader you referred directly, L=2 is a trader referred by your direct referral, L=3 is the level below that, and the pattern continues.
Standard rates at each level:
| Level | Who they are | Rate (share of net fees) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Someone you referred directly | 20.00% |
| 2 | Referred by your direct referral | 4.00% |
| 3 | One level deeper | 0.80% |
| 4 | One level deeper again | 0.16% |
An example
A single $100.00 of gross fees, run through the discount and then each level:
Gross fees: $100.00
Referred trader discount: 10%
Net fees collected: $90.00
Level 1 reward: $90.00 * 0.20 = $18.00
Level 2 reward: $90.00 * 0.04 = $3.60
Level 3 reward: $90.00 * 0.008 = $0.72
Level 4 reward: $90.00 * 0.0016 = $0.14The discount is applied first. Each level is then paid out of the same $90.00 of net fees.
Reward caps
Referral rewards are capped at $100,000 per direct referred-user lineage. A lineage is one direct referral and everyone connected through them, counted together against a single cap.
For example: Alice directly refers Bob. Alice can earn up to $100,000 in total from Bob and from everyone downstream of Bob, the traders Bob refers, the traders they refer, and so on. All of that activity counts against the same $100,000 cap. Bob’s downstream network does not get a separate cap under Alice. It rolls up into Bob’s lineage.
The cap is per direct referral, not per trader and not per level. Each trader you refer directly opens one $100,000 lineage, shared by the whole branch below them.
The referred trader discount
A trader who joins through your code gets a 10% discount on their fees for using a referral code.
The discount is capped at $100,000 in total fee savings per account. This is a lifetime per-account ceiling, not a monthly allowance and not a per-trade limit. The savings accumulate trade by trade until they reach $100,000, and the discount applies to the fees up to that point.
The referred trader’s discount is applied before any referral reward is calculated. That is why the formula and the worked example run on net fees: the discount comes off the top, and the levels are paid out of what remains.
Points
Referrals will count toward any future points program. How referral activity is treated for points will be announced separately. No points outcome is settled yet.
Payouts
There are no upfront referral payments at this time. The program pays on activity, not on signup. A reward exists once the trading that earns it has happened and cleared the checks, not when an invite is accepted.
The payout cadence is still to be determined. How often rewards are paid out, and through what mechanism, will be set around the mainnet launch and updated here. Until then, any accrued reward is provisional.
Program terms
The referral program is subject to eligibility, review, caps, and anti-abuse checks.
Synchronicity may update, suspend, or end the program. Changes can affect reward rates, caps, eligibility rules, payout timing, calculation methods, anti-abuse rules, points treatment, discount terms, or any other term. Changes apply going forward.
Synchronicity may also adjust, disqualify, reverse, or recalculate rewards retroactively in cases of abuse, Sybil activity, bugs, erroneous calculations, legal or compliance requirements, security issues, or platform integrity.
Referral rewards are not guaranteed until they are finally approved and paid.
